Students learn the difference between a representative and a questionable sample, how sampling location and technique can influence results, why sample identification and documentation matter, how common field instruments are prepared and checked, and how operators should respond when a result does not make operational sense. The course emphasizes sound operating practice rather than laboratory certification or a specific regulatory compliance-sampling procedure.
